I made the Chainsaw this mustachio'd case for his Kindle. Now when he sees it he can hear a little voice in his head saying "Your mustache looks so HANDSOME!!"

Felix and I had a little slightly too dark hallway photo shoot yesterday for his valentines, and he was the perfect little model.

I skipped out on posting last weekend because I was pretty boring all weekend. Nothing to see here folks! Actually, that's not true.

I made this pretty pink silk rose hair piece.





Isn't it glamorous? No action shots because it's quarter past hair wash day around here. I know, gross, right? :D



Here's the pretty pin cushion Sara Kate made me for Leigh Ann's swap.



This is the one I made for her. This is her photo. I was going to the post office right after I finished this, so I packed it up and sent it before I remembered to take a few photos. Oops! So special thanks to Sara Kate for taking a lovely photo.

Chainsaw bought me this gorgeous ring for Valentine's Day.



I know it kind of looks like I lost all my fingers in a factory accident, but it's just hard to take a picture of a ring that is on your finger and hold the camera still to get a clear shot. I really like how cool it's eyes look in this photo, but they are actually citrines and look yellow in real life. It's from etsy shop Western Mountain, and they have tons of cute stuff! I think the owl eyes are supposed to be birthstones, but I liked the citrines best.

I followed a bit of Pioneer Woman's advice and made Linguini and Shrimp for special VD dinner. It was super easy and extra delicious. I couldn't find already peeled shrimp and enlisted Chainsaw's help for that part, but it tasted like a million bucks. I'm also pleased with the knowledge that I have an extra pound of shrimp in my freezer waiting for me to eat them. They're shaking in their shells, which they're lucky they have!

I love angry cat faces. I have some winning pictures of Uncle Babraham somewhere, but they're zipped up on another computer. :(

This one reminds me of Corn Palace billboards. The corn palace is a super cool palace in Mitchell, SD that they redecorate with corn every year. I dare you to go search corn palace and not have your mind blown!

They have super cheesy billboards along the interstate that say stuff like "Ear-resistable" and "Prepare to be a-MAIZED." I did a search for the corn palace and discovered ol' Barack has visited before he was president. The corn palace can say "I knew him when..."

Uh, anyway. I love vintage valentines. :D

Snug as a pug in a rug

Felix is making the best out of the pile of couch cushions I accumulated last weekend from a very nice lady on freecycle. I'm going to make them some pillow cases and put them to use as floor cushions at my Dad and Kris's house. They don't have room for lots of extra furniture, and a few of these would be great to sit on when the couch gets filled with butts. Then they could shove them under a bed or something when they don't need the extra seating.

For now, they are being used as a bed on the living room floor. Chainsaw and I are horrible parents who bought a couch with cushions that don't come off, so Felix has so far been without the joy of playing with a pile of cushions.



Holy smokes! Someone come vacuum my rug please!

For Valentine's day I did something kind of naughty. I can't remember who/where this came from, but I saw this cute card on etsy. I loved it so much that, instead of buying it, I flat out traced it and embroidered it for Chainsaw. If this was your card, sorry I didn't buy it. I loved the idea, but I wanted to MAKE something for VD, you know?  Edited to add- the artist is Gemma Correll.  Her stuff is awesome!



A good problem to have:

After not touching my machine for weeks, I made that quilt block last week. Then I got a custom order for a few zippered pouches. This weekend I was bombarded with glorious inspiration, of course. It makes me want to work on new stuff so badly, but alas, first I must do custom orders. Here's hoping I get a ton done today!
