New Scrappy Wallets

Hi friends!

I'm pleased to announce that I've made some new card wallets out of scraps, which is how I made my first set of wallets. I think these guys are so cute!

Scrappy Card Wallets

This one is my favorite:

I also finished a quilt block for Rachel of p.s. i quilt. It was a string block, which I've always thought look super cool. I also thought they looked scary hard, and I was surprised to find out that they aren't!

It was a bit time consuming though. One was fun, but I'm not sure I'd ever find the time to do more than that. Good call on using the quilting bee to get one done!

I also had to go issue an apology for being a bad, bad quilting bee participant. I'm pretty ashamed of myself for holding finished blocks (some from this spring) and packages of fabric hostage for a long time. As much as I think quilting bees are super cool and a fun idea, I probably won't be signing up for another one. I hope my quilting bee friends can forgive me!

Also, stop by tomorrow for my 100th post giveaway. I'm still coming up with my giveaway prizes and am considering doing a few. See you tomorrow!

Happy Scrappy!

I'm so excited that this month I got to send out fabric for the Cottage Quilting Bee. Feel free to ignore this post if you're not on this particular team of cool kids, but don't feel left out. There are cool kids everywhere.

For my quilt blocks I sent everyone scraps. My favorite color is rainbow, if that's possible, and I tried to include some of every color for everyone. I'm afraid this is going to be another one of those follow your heart, go crazy, make cute blocks. I'm going for the scrappy look. Feel free to add any of your own scraps and any size will do. I made a little mosaic of some scrappy blocks I like.

Happy Scrappy

1. project improv~ charity block, 2. Scrap Quilt using 1 inch Squares, 3. Wonky Scrap Doll Quilt, 4. Scrap patchwork mat, 5. boxed scraps school bus yellow, 6. triangle block

Pesky number three doesn't show up, but you can still click through to it.

So let's recap:

1. Any size is a good size!

2. Feel free to add your own scraps, any glorious color is fine by me.

3. No embellishments that stick out like buttons or beads. It's probably going to get washed eleventy billion times. Embellishments that lay flat like embroidery or ric rac are a-ok if you're so inclined.

4. A rainbow design is not required. I just threw in every basic color because I like them.

5. A super scrappy look is encouraged.

I'm so excited! Thank you for the opportunity ladies and QuiltDad.

Back in the Saddle

I seriously don't know how long it's been since I last touched my sewing machine. I'm guessing a day or so after I made all those pouches, as I did manage to make one horrible experimental purse after those.

I always like to start off a project on the wrong foot. So of course I get super sick for all of February and am probably the last person to finish Darci's February block for the Cottage Quilting Bee. I am just glad that I actually finished it in February. So without further ado, here is my very first slightly wonky log cabin block:

Square for Darci

I think it turned out pretty cute for a first timer! Of course the fabric for March's block came in the mail today. I should probably get to work on it asap so I'm not known as the group's tardy quilter.

Thank you to everyone who wished me well lately. I was starting to become convinced that I was doomed to live out the rest of my days with this horrible cold, but I think I'm on the downside now after it reached its horrible peak last weekend. I still don't feel so hot, but I am enjoying starting to feel better!
