Caps in the shop

I got some brighter light to work with yesterday and therefore was able to put a these in my shop:

SDC11582

SDC11570

SDC11564

These two hats are fully reversible and fully awesome. :D

Speaking of awesome, I have a crush on my new header, created by my lovely friend Melissa. I asked her to make an ad for me, and she made me a bonus header! Anyway, I heart it big time. If you're reading this in a feed, click on through and see how beautiful it is.

We're going to the Museum of Nature and Science today to see the dino bones.

New cap

I bought this pattern from etsy user Shara Lamberth Designs the other night.  I made it today, and it is lovely.

It's reversible, but the fabric I used on the other side puckered a bit here and there and my topstitching is highly visible and not even close to perfect. Oh well, what do I need that boring side for when I have this beautiful side made from a vintage sheet.

Felix and I spent yesterday morning cruising Pearl Street in Boulder looking for a birthday present for our friend Galileo, who turned TWO yesterday. Some of the tulips were blooming and too pretty to pass up for a photo.

The party was at a park nestled almost right against the mountains, and apparently us humans aren't the only ones who enjoy it!

This notice is on the bear proof trash cans.

Notice anything here? Apparently Super Lahja loves his cape and rarely takes it off. That sure filled my heart with glee. Felix only uses his on occasion!

We sure had a fun day, despite the fact that it was chilly and overcast for most of the afternoon.  Thank you to Galileo for being cool enough to turn two and to Brooke and Russel for the super fun party.  Felix would like to do it again today!  :D

Hats

I crocheted like a crazy lady while in SD (ok, maybe like a kind of crazy lady- I did other stuff too!).

I finished the green hat of my dreams.

My green hat

I also bought pretty, soft grey yarn and got to work. For some reason I crocheted it way too loosely, and it was too big for my head. So I gifted it to Kris, who added a glorious brooch from Grandma Mary Ann's stash, creating a hat masterpiece!

Doesn't she look fabulous?? It's a picture my dad took with his phone, so it's not the best ever.

Now both my moms have hats handmade by me! Next up- friends and sisters! They might have to wait until next Christmas for me to perfect another pattern.

I made another adorable tie headband today while catching up on one of my favorite programs- Big Love. I'm waiting for my fro to dry before photographing it. I also sewed some buttons onto some shirts- one shirt having been bought at the mall with Laura when Felix was like one. A button fell off the first time I wore it, and I just found it in the basement waiting for me. I just waited almost 3 years to do a 5 minute job. Thank cod for to do lists. I'm to do list out of control!
