Things I love

SDC12982

Laura took this glorious photo of me after I did a quick change on account of evening breezes, and I would like to point out some things I love here.

1. I already said this, but my turquoise cowboy boots. They look cool with everything and are super comfortable. Thanks lady in South Dakota who broke them in and only wanted 50 cents in trade. I just spent several times that on turquoise shoe polish and am excited to pretty them up.

2. Fanny packs. Laura told me how sold she was on full time fanny pack use, and I have to agree. The hands free bag action is luxurious. Perfect for thrifting for sure. I think I'm going to make myself a more perfect fanny pack.

3. Plaid shirt/jacket I found at the park. It was there for three consecutive days and soaking with rain. I decided that after three days it was fair game. If someone wanted it back, they would have reclaimed it by then. It's super soft and matches my boots.

4. Favorite vintage necklace, courtesy of Kris, courtesy of Grandma Mary. I never met Kris's Grandma Mary, but I'm pretty sure we would have been best friends. Kris is in possession of her jewel treasures, and we love to go through them every couple visits.

5. The more cups on my table the better.

6. My son owns a camouflage jacket.

7. New bag for my lappy, which I pretty much never take anywhere anyway.

The end!

I didn't even realize how many of my favorite things were packed into this picture. Thanks to Laura for capturing it. What's your favorite thing today?

The Fair

Let us do some calculations:

SDC12632

Baby animals

SDC12630

plus pony rides

SDC12649

plus friends

SDC12655

times pretty carnival lights

SDC12658

plus Monster Bag of cotton candy

SDC12645

plus fun rides

minus riding the pirate ship with two kids screaming "I don't like it" and "make it stop" (no photo available as people with cameras were laughing at my misfortune instead of documenting evidence)

EQUALS ONE AWESOME TIME. That's a lot of my favorite things right there.

Poodle Love

It's getting painfully close to Valentine's Day, so I thought I'd share these LOVEly treasures I found on the memory card of my big, expensive camera (the one I've been neglecting since scoring my smaller, portable camera).

Laura and Butter

Laura and Butter

This is my breast friend Laura and her best dog love Butter the poodle. Poodles are French, therefore Butter is all about love. I think he might also like the Eiffel tower and possibly French toast and French fries. French onion soup? Most of all, Butter loves Laura like nobody's business. Who doesn't?

Also, I have put a few new wallets in the shop. If you want to score one for the love of your life (which could be yourself) or just see how pretty they are go check them out. :D

Zippered Card Wallet

I know I've been promising them all week, but I was having photography troubles, which lead to me getting out the good camera. I should probably plan on using it for all etsy photos. I'm taking a photography workshop next week, and I can't wait!

Can I toot my own horn a bit and say that I'm proud of myself for blogging more regularly? I can? Good! Toot toot!

I better go get to work creating! Happy Friday friends.

My first boyfriend

Rachel at Smile and Wave is doing a super cute series called "Love Notes." I like the cute stories about how couples met and/or first crushes, and I thought I'd tell you about my first boyfriend.

My first boyfriend ever (that I remember anyway) was Adam W. in kindergarden. He had the orangest hair and the cutest freckles.

(This isn't him, but you get the picture!)

When we'd line up to go back inside for recess I'd try to be in front of him so I could toss my head from side to side and smack him in the face with my huge ponytail or braid. We'd also play a variant of tag called "Kiss or Kill" where you had to catch someone and decide if you wanted to kiss them or kill them. I usually went for kill, and I feel that I owe Adam an apology for all the times I kicked him in the crotch in elementary school.

Alas, the 5 year old heart is a fickle thing, and I had to dump Adam in first grade for the new red headed kid with freckles, Kameron F.

I think I grew out of my red head obsession by second grade, where I set my sights on the brown haired new kid. Maybe my next obsession was the new kid?

I was lucky enough to attend Adam's wedding last fall, where he joined is spirit with a pretty girl who hopefully doesn't kick him in the crotch or slap him across the face with his hair.
